Mr. Simon and Mrs. Adams– Shearer came to visit us on November 14th 2008
Mr. Simon is from the Jewish Community in Middlesbrough.

Olivia is blowing the Shofar. Mr. Simon was very impressed with all we knew about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
Mr. Simon showed us how he gets ready for prayer.
Jake is wearing Mr. Simon’s prayer shawl (tallit) and Kippah.
Mr. Simon had a pair of socks with his name in Hebrew and English. They had the star of David on them, too. He threw his socks into the class for us to catch!!

This is a four cornered piece of clothing with fringes or tassels at the corner (a reminder of the four corners of the world).
